I’ve gained so much confidence that I can use in future. That kind of confidence is what workplace people are looking for, so it’s a good thing.
For two years I was at Charles Sturt University Study Centres. I met so many different people… I got inspired by them. All you have to do is just find the right contacts. You need to be in touch with different people. Doesn't matter what fields they are or what level they are; they're always going to have an idea that's going to inspire you and, of course, you have to keep going and going.
I don't think you can tell, but I was an introverted person. Unless people came up to me and talked to me, I'm not the conversation starter. After coming here, in work and then in the University, I started to become the conversation starter. I feel happy because it's an improvement for me. You can't always stay quiet and expect people to come to you. Opening up is going to help me in my professional career in the future.
I recommend studying University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP) because it really prepares you for university, so you won't struggle when you commence there.
The academic rigour that Taylors College puts you through, combined with the ability to pick subjects that you’re really passionate about, really was a fantastic combination for university preparation. I think if I’d come here straight for university, it would have been really difficult to assimilate to culture changes, to learning a new way, but I think it was a really good buffer period for me.
Studying here enhances my communication skills because there are a lot of different nationalities here. I get to talk to different people and know their culture and backgrounds.
